true beauty.

What is true beauty?

Is it blemish-free skin? Is it a body that fits comfortably into a size xs?

Not in God's eyes.

"But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart." Samuel 16:7

True beauty is in the heart. A heart willing to obey God's commandments and willing to serve Him. True beauty is the girl who beams with the love of Jesus Christ inside her.

Don't go by the world's standards of beauty. Layers of makeup, straight, white teeth and the most stylish clothes don't make you anymore beautiful in God's eyes.

"Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting of hair, and of wearing gold, or of putting on apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. " 1 Peter 3:3-4

Making sure you look nice is not wrong. It's when you get so caught up on the outside, you lose sight of what's really important. The inside.

VERY GOOD! I have studied on this before, but this is just what I have been needing. I am always saying how my teeth aren't straight and my hair is always being a pain, but I need to remember that it's the inward appearance, thanks so much for this post, I really needed it today!

Yes, yes, yes! I love this sooo much. :) It's such an encouragement to know I'm not the only one thinking like this. <3

Very wise word, Kathryn. :-) "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth." 3 John 1:4. Love Mom

Very good, Kat. ;) I often get lost in the spinning of wearing the right makeup, the right clothes, the right jewelry. And I realized I was turning into someone you wouldn't want to spend time around. Hopefully (and I say HOPEFULLY) I'm changing that. :P

p.s. Did you take that picture?? Dude, I need a better camera. xD
